Makeup Revolution – ‘Day of the dead’ palette review!

Hi gang!

So a few weeks ago I bought the ‘Day of the dead’ eye shadow palette from Makeup revolution and I’ve just got round to having a dabble with it…..

image

image

As you can see the packaging got my attention first and I generally love anything ‘Day of the dead’ related (wish we had that holiday here in the uk 😉 ) ….so, the palette has 18 shades (all exclusive to the palette, 12 shimmer and 6 matte colours all with a great choice of neutrals, vibrants and smokies….

Ok so the palette cost £6 so don’t expect a MAC palette but when worn with an eyelid primer their pretty good! Yes theirs some fallout as they are quite powdery but all in all a nice little palette 🙂

My favourite of the shades is ‘Go and get the world’ very similar to a few I wear from the Urban Decay Naked3 palette….

Urban Decay review

Hi Dolls!

So last week we ventured into Leeds and of course ended up at the Urban Decay counter, I saw a big stand with all their gorgeous palette’s on, I also noticed Debenhams had a reduction sale which included all of Urban Decay’s line 🙂

image

Without much hesitation ( how could I resist?) I grabbed the Naked3 palette, the lovely UD sales Representative told me that if I topped my purchases up to £40 I would get a free goody bag and £5 gift card (may as well)  so my sister got one of their lipliners.

The goody bag contained eye shadow, eye primer and foundation samplers aswell as an ‘All nighter’ makeup setting spray (15ml).

Naked3 palette

I already own the Naked2 palette however (like most people I’m sure) I have worn most of the shadows to the pan so it was only right I got a new palette (wasn’t it?) 😉

image

The colours all have a slight rose hue to them which in my opinion make them so much more wearable for everyday use.
The 12 colours feature Mattes, pearls and metallics, so you can really have fun and experiment with this palette.

image

image

The palette comes with a good quality double ended brush as well as 4 different eye primer pods.
I’ve played with this a few times and I’m loving the depth of colour it creates, I’m loving the colours ‘Dust’ and ‘Nooner’….

image

I’ve decided not to do swatches as UD eye shadows can often look a little different on different skin tones but I will say to always use an eyelid primer to really make the colour pop.

What’s your favourite colour in the palette?

‘All nighter’ setting spray

image

As part of my free Goody bag I received a travel sized ‘All nighter’ makeup setting spray, I have to say I love this, it really made my makeup ‘stay put’ all day without any oily t-zones coming through and gave me that dewy ‘botoxy’ (is that even a word?!!) Look, which I liked 🙂

Naked3 – £34.20 (limited time only in Debenhams) or £38 regular price.
‘All nighter’ spray- £21 (£9 for travel size)
