Hard Candy baked blush in ‘living doll’ – Review

Hi Gang!

Hope everyone is well 🙂

Today I bring you the Hard Candy baked blusher in the shade ‘living doll’….

image

image

image

I was lucky enough to receive this in a recent beauty swap (check out my UK/USA swap post)

I’ve not seen any Hard Candy products on the UK high street since I was a kid in the 90’s (just nail polish) so I was really pleased to get this! I’m sure they sell them online (for a ridiculous amount) anyway….I’ve read and watched bloggers & vloggers for years talk about how they love the Hard Candy blushers, kinda like a cult product now 🙂

Not sure about you ladies but I’ve always found that baked blushers make my skin look so lovely and ‘finished’….

Not wearing anything on my skin except the blusher…..

image

First of all the colour isn’t my usual coral shade that I would normally wear but I was surprised at how delicate and flattering this shade is on me 🙂

image

‘Living doll’ is a beautiful illuminating ‘pink pop’ colour with baked-in marbled shades of primrose gold, when swirled together it really gives my cheeks a subtle dewy pop of colour & iridescence 🙂

Too Faced ‘Primed & Poreless’ Primer – review!

Hi Dolls!

How was your weekend? 🙂

In my sister’s recent Too Faced haul post she bought their ‘primed & poreless’ face primer,  unfortunately (fortunately for moi!) it didn’t agree with her so she gave it to Me! Thanks Louise! 🙂 so..here’s my review….

image

image

First of all I just love Too faced especially their baby pink vintage styled packaging, kinda reminds me of ‘old Hollywood’ like the type of packaging that would be seen on Marilyn Monroe’s or Greta Garbo’s dressing table 🙂

image

image

The product kind of looks like a foundation when it comes out the tube but I assure you as you rub it into the skin it becomes invisible leaving the skin clear, soft with pores shrinked.

I liked the way my skin looks with it, even before applying make-up,  sort of ‘airbrushed’…my skin only abit better 🙂

My make-up (powder foundation) went smoothly on top but I didn’t notice anything magnificent, my other primers that I use work just as good in my eyes however if your main problem is enlarged pores then I would defiantly recommend this one. 🙂

Paraben and Mineral oil free it contains ingredients such as Vitamin A & C, Mulberry extracts, Retinol & Alba bark.

Defiantly a primer worth trying! 🙂

Uspicy cosmetic brushes from Amazon (Sigma dupes!)

Hi Dolls!

I purchased some brushes from Amazon the other day and I’m so impressed that I wanted to tell you guys!

Their only £14.99 for 10 brushes and the quality and look is comparable to Sigma brushes! VERY well made, dense and no fall out..
They came in a cute box too 🙂

I’ll do a full review when I’ve used them for a while.

Clarins – Skincare review!

Hi Dolls!

How was your weekend? 🙂

Today I’m reviewing 2 product’s by Clarins.
image

I don’t really ever buy/use anything from Clarins however i received some at Christmas (which also came with the beauty flash balm primer which is reviewed on our blog) 🙂
First of all both of these products are 100ml sized (gift sized) and I’ve just checked the Clarins website & to buy individually they are 200ml sizes.

Moisture-Rich Body Lotion

image

image

I don’t know a great deal about Clarins as a brand (a few of my friends & family use it) BUT this is such a great body lotion! Infact probably one of the best I’ve used in a long time 😀

It soaks into the skin in seconds leaving a moisturising, non-sticky kind of matte sheen to the skin.
It has a kind of mild citrus/peachy scent which would make sense as it’s prime ingredients are Peach milk, Shea, Candlenut oil & Orange blossom.

Clarins describe this best as….’Visibly minimises the signs of aging caused by the sun, cold, heating and air conditioning’ so not matter what your age is we are all exposed to these elements 😉

This is definitely a ‘considered purchase’ so maybe ask at your nearest Clarins counter for a sample to try it for yourself 🙂

Exfoliating Body scrub

image

image

One thing I hate is exfoliators with big ole beads in them that feel like your skin is being sanded to the bone! Well, this is quite the opposite…. It comes out the tube as more like a paste (kind of looks like hair removal cream!) and after polishing my skin in the shower the dry skin on my upper arms & shoulder’s was removed and smoothed after a long winter of heating and jumpers. The skin was beautifully soft and ‘de-scaled’.

The exfoliator uses natural bamboo powders instead of beads which really gives your skin that ultra polished glow 🙂
The scent is very hard to describe, very neutral & clean I guess I would say…very summery 😉

The scrub also won Instyle magazine’s ‘Best body exfoliator’ in 2014 and I can really see why, I love it!

Do any of you guys use Clarins??

Philosophy – ‘The cookie exchange’ review!

Hi Dolls!

Good morning 🙂

I’m slowly getting through some of the amazing gift sets I received at Christmas 🙂

One of the brands I love to receive are Philosophy gift sets as they are so versatile, fun and they always cheer me up with their gorgeous scents and packaging 🙂

Most of Philosophy’s ‘foodie’ sets have their scent recipes on the front of each product, which I love! Such a great idea!

The ‘cookie exchange’ is a beautiful scrummy tin containing 3 equally scrummy products.

‘Sweet creamy frosting’ body lotion

image

First up we have the delicious smelling body lotion ‘sweet creamy frosting’. If you hate the smell of a sweet vanilla cake frosting then you’re probably not going to love this 😉

The lotion which is more like a body butter has that richness of old fashioned cake frosting, buttery, sugary, thick……delicious!

I applied this after a shower and the formula does sink in within a few minutes and leaves a lovely sheen to my skin.
Contains ingredients such as Macadamia oil and Shea butter.

‘Christmas cookie’ 3in1

image

‘Christmas’ is a 3in1 shower gel/bubble bath/shampoo.
I’m not going to lie, this smells very similar to ‘sweet creamy frosting’ except it has more of that ‘home baking’ smell (it’s always so hard explaining scents in writing isn’t it?).
It has a good lather especially when used with one of those shower scrunchies and cleans the skin without it leaving you parched and dry..I’m not keen on it as a shampoo as it leaves my hair a little static and ‘flyaway’ but that’s just me 🙂

Sugar sprinkles’ – Lip gloss

image

The lip gloss is a nice added extra to the set, it has a really odd but nice smell to it, kind of like if you mixed pineapple with vanilla.

The gloss has a high shine pink formula with tiny red specs of glitter, I admit I’m not overly fond of this lip gloss as I find it abit ‘sticky’ but then I’m not a lip gloss kinda gal 😉

Mac Haul

Hey Lovelies

You’ll all come to realise just how much we love anything and everything Mac (like I’m pretty sure you all do!💄) So here are my latest buys

image

This powder blush is in the shade Blush Baby and is £18.00 for 6g. As with all Mac colours it’s highly pigmented but is buildable. I’d still go easy with it though, especially if you’re fair skinned like me. It’s a dusky rose kind of shade and quite deep in its shade. I think the name suggests that it would give a soft pinky cheek effect, but make no mistake, this is a serious colour. Too much and you’ll look like you’ve just done a 10 mile run, but a couple of swirls with your brush and you’ll get a healthy looking sheen.

image

Next up is my favourite lipstick shade, Viva Glam V

image

This lipglass is £14.50 for 4.8g. Not massive compared to the more standard sized 8/9g lip glosses out there but what can you do when you love a colour!

image

Unlike the Viva Glam V lipstick, which I think is more of an equal pink/brown hue, the matching lipglass is more towards the brown spectrum. It’s slightly darker than its lipstick sister so obviously gives a bolder look and definitely does when paired on top of the lipstick but it’s still a colour I love. I just go easy on this because they’re more of my everyday shades I wear for work.

I always pair my Viva Glam V with my Mac lip pencil in Boldly Bare

image image

This is £12.50 for 1.4g and lasts forever! It’s well worth the price. Soft on the lips, no drag, yet never breaks off when sharpening. I love the deep rose, almost brown colour. It goes with so many of the Mac lipsticks and glosses! If you like the pinky browns you simply cannot go wrong with Boldly Bare. It wears very well, probably longer than the lipstick or gloss does but isn’t drying on the lip line. I do love a Mac liner!

Now on to my all time favourite, everyday eyeshadow

image

Retrospeck is a beautiful lustre that can be as light or dark as you want it. It’s a good pigment but you do have to build it up if you want a strong colour on your eyes.

image

A sheeny brown, almost mossy like shade that really makes blue eyes ‘pop’ it’s very flattering. The swatch above is around four layers of it so you can see it in its full intensity. Very wearable and very easy to apply. You can’t really make a mistake with this one. Lasts pretty much the full day too. Always a winner with me:)

I finish off with….

image

The Prep+Prime Fix Spray. £15.50 for 100ml, another one that lasts a long time.

It says on the Mac website that it’s ‘A lightweight, mineral rich finishing mist that refreshes the skin and finishes make up’

While this doesn’t break me out, sometimes it’s a tad too much for my greasy skin. I find that it’s better to use during the winter months rather than right in the middle of summer otherwise the dewy look you might be going for could end up being more of the oil slick look😁 All in all though this really does do what it says and ‘fixes’ your look, for how long though just depends on your skin type I guess.

Buys I’m very happy with because I use them and know what to expect but we will be reviewing lots more Mac in the coming weeks and months. Always a pleasure:)

Thank you for reading👍
