Summer skin product favourites! (Oily skin)

Hey Guys!!!

Sorry we’ve been M.I.A for a little while…

Hope you are all good and enjoying the hot weather! πŸ™‚

Here is my recent summer favourites…..

image

NΒ°7 Shimmering lip/eye SPF stick

image

image

This NΒ°7 eye and lip shimmer stick is so creamy and long lasting! It also contains an SPF/UVB 30 (most  lightweight SPF lip products contain just a 15) and gives the lips and/or eyelids a flattering sweep of delicate shimmery bronze.

Β£7.50 (3g)  – Boots
http://www.Boots.com

Clinique – Super city block (oil-free)

image

image

image

The Clinique city block is an excellent all rounder SPF40 face primer for full sun protection. It comes out like a beigy cream but when blended into the face/neck goes clear which then leaves your skin a none greasy summer glowy canvas πŸ™‚

Liz Earle skin repair moisturiser in ‘Light’

image

Like most Liz Earle products this moisturiser in ‘Light’ has been a god send for my oil to combination skin! As I am prone to spots I needed an everyday face moisturiser that was light enough to not disrupt my skin (Spots!) Yet rich enough to hydrate my skin with all the botanical and goodness that Liz Earle packs into it’s skin products such as Borage, Avacado and Echinacea . Leaves my skin velvety, matte and soft πŸ™‚

Β£20.25 (50ml)

Liz Earle sheer tint primer

image

image

The Liz Earle sheer skin tint (I use shade ‘Bare 01’) is a wonderful tinted under makeup primer which gives a light-sheer coverage while controlling excess facial oil. The formula has a light protection of SPF 15, I often wear this alone or if you are conscious of looking greasy then wear a dusting of face powder on top for a more matte look..:)

Current beauty favourites!

Hi guys!

How are we all?

So as it’s a wee bit late to do an ‘April beauty favourites’ and too early for a ‘May beauty favourites’ I thought I would give u a run down of my current favourites! πŸ™‚

image

image

Tony Moly – Banana hand cream

image

image

I am in love with this gorgeously cute Korean banana hand cream! Smells like those foamy banana sweets I had as a kid and is very moisturing and non sticky! I got this in a recent Korea/UK beauty swap (check out my blog post).
If you’re from the UK they sell these on Amazon πŸ™‚

EOS lip balm (Strawberry)

image

Another recent beauty swap (check out my UK/USA beauty swap post) where I was lucky enough to get one of these πŸ˜€ Hard to find (and expensive) in the UK but I love the formula of these…nearly all natural and are cruelty free! Keeps my lips chap free all year long! πŸ™‚
In the UK they can be bought at Topshop, Selfridge’s and at http://www.cultbeauty.co.uk

Batiste dry shampoo (Cherry)

image

For someone like me who has very thick hair that gets greasy quick this dry shampoo is a life saver! No other dry shampoo works (and smells) as good as Batiste!
They sell these everywhere! πŸ™‚

Too Faced shadow insurance (eye primer)

image

This is a sample size but boy does this last a long time! If you wear eye shadow especially vibrant colours I really recommend this one by too faced, it really makes your shadows look great and last for ages.
Buy from Debenhams, boots or at http://www.toofaced.com

Liz Earle – brow pencil (dark)

image

My favourite brow pencil is this one by Liz Earle…makes my brows look great and is full of lovely ingredients like avocado oil…love!
Β£11 from http://www.lizearle.com

Beauty blender

image

My sister got me this from home bargains for about a Β£1!….this works amazingly at blending in foundation and concealer… Such a bargain considering most beauty blenders I’ve seen are between Β£10-15! πŸ™‚

Clarins ‘blue’ perfume

image

My mum loves this perfume and Ive always loved how it smelt on her so she gave me a bottle that had about a quater left (she had another full bottle ready).
I really love the smell of this, really clean & fresh smelling not at all sweet or fruity (isn’t it always hard to describe perfume?) It’s the type of scent that suits anyone and is even quite unisex in my opinion πŸ™‚
Can be bought at Debenhams and Boots for Β£32 (100ml).

Thanks for reading guys!

Love Nina xoxo ( Ν‘Β° ΝœΚ– Ν‘Β°)

Liz Earle Mini Haul &Freebies

Hi Guys

Hope you’re all well πŸ˜€

My review today is a selection of products from the very fabulous Liz Earle! You should all have guessed by now how much we love this brand, so I’ll get started ☺️

First up are two blushers in powder form

image image image

The one is the Healthy Glow Powder Blush in Nude. Β£16.50 for 6g, this is bigger than the cream blushers (which I absolutely love!) The sleek compact is mirrored and is very well made and strong. Nothing flimsy about the LE packaging. The website states ‘subtle rosy apricot. Brings a warm delicate flush’ and while it is a beautiful shade, I found it a touch too much for my pale skin so my sister now uses this colour and it looks amazing on her skin.

So I got my beloved Camellia in the powder (have only previously had the cream blush which I adore and use it lips, cheeks, eyelids…)

image image image

This shade is my all time favourite blusher colour ever! It even beats my Clinique Iced Lotus! I also love the fact that ingredients include that beautiful natural source vitamin E.

I would highly recommend the shade Camillia to anyone with a pale complexion. It just lights the whole face up 😊

image image

This Lash Care Intensifying Mascara Base was included as a free gift in my last order. A lovely letter came with it saying that it was included as I am a valued customer and how LE would love to hear back from me…some feedback. So I will do it here then everyone can read my thoughts on this base, but first I just wanted to say a big thank you for this😊 LE are so very thoughtful and appreciative towards their loyal customers. It makes us feel special ❀️

Right, back to the base. ‘Enriched with a specially selected blend of botanicals to help condition lashes’ it certainly does do what it says it does! I love this! I do use a mascara base every single day so this wasn’t wasted on me and I put it to use straight away. It lengthened my lashes just like my regular base does, but this one seemed to make them look more glossier after the mascara was applied. Must be that natural vitamin E again! Also has Jojoba Seed oil and is Β£10.50 for 8ml. I’ll definitely be purchasing this base regularly from now on.

image image image image

This Nourishing Hair Oil is for all hair types and is Β£17.25 for a 50ml pump.

I didn’t buy this though because this was a Facebook competition win! You had to comment on the Facebook post on what you look for in good haircare, I did not really thinking I would be one of the 20 winners, and I was! ☺️

So thank you very much LE! A lovely way to try the newly reformulated Hair oil. So here’s my review on it…..

I actually prefer the new ingredient. The Yangu oil was replaced with the seed oil from the Kalahari Melon and I feel that although it smells the same, it seems lighter and sharper in smell. I used the older Yangu version and did notice sometimes my hair could be slightly static after use, not now though! I slide it through wet ends…really work it in then blow dry. It makes my hair so soft and manageable and it really does reduce blow drying time. For me about half the time. The smell too!!!! That irresistible smell! 😊

The ingredients are heavenly…a dream for dry, damaged or colour treated hair. Coconut oil, Abyssinian seed oil, radish seed oil, natural vitamin E and the new Kalahari melon seed oil. What more could you ask for in a hair oil?! The new colour packaging is better too

Thanks for reading guys, we really do appreciate it xx

Liz Earle – Nail polish review

Hi Dolls!

Today I bring you a review of Liz Earle’s nail polish in 02 ‘Quicksand’.

image

image

I bought this gorgeous shade of soft sand/beige back in February at their beautiful Leeds store.

As many of you know both myself and my sister Louise LOVE anything Liz Earle! I mainly love their Skincare products and my sister the cosmetics but we just love everything! πŸ˜€

A few years ago Liz Earle launched their cosmetic line and I didn’t try any of their nail polish at first but while in their store in February I couldn’t resist especially at all the rave reviews I read and the price, only Β£8.50 for a premium good quality nail polish πŸ™‚

image

They have 12 gorgeous colours and I plan to get more during the summer but ‘Quicksand’ is such a lovely neutral shade that I wanted to try it first:)

The polish itself painted on beautifully with a nice, long brush and non-drip formula. To get the most out of the colour I used a topcoat (OPI). I had about 6 days wear before I noticed any chipping which I think is pretty good as I normally get around 2-3 days from my OPI or Barry M polishes so I was very impressed πŸ™‚

Thought I would show you my current favourite hair products! πŸ™‚
If you would like a full review of any of the products listed then just holla in the comments πŸ™‚

Liz Earle – Botanical shine hair oil

image

image

I apply this golden botanical hair oil to the ends of my hair (wet hair) after it has been freshly washed to really pack in moisture as well as preventing those pesky split ends!

The natural, organic oil smells like a heavenly mix of all those beautiful oils they source.
Unfortunately Liz Earle had to discontinue the ‘yangu oil’ due to a bad harvest in Kenya however they replaced it with a type of melon oil, so all is good πŸ™‚

Botanical shine hair oil-Β£17.25

V05 ‘Give me texture’ styling creme

image

image

When I want a more ‘choppy’ look i apply a small amount to towel dried (only really works on short/medium layered hair) hair and then blow-dry for an edgy, choppy look to your style.

Asda – Β£2 (bought when on offer)

Percy & Reed – ‘Wonder balm’

image

If I want a more smoother and polished look to my hair then I like to use the Percy & Reed ‘Wonder balm’ as a ‘go to’ product.
I apply a small amount to towel dried hair from the roots to the ends then blow dry as normal, this creates a glossy finish which is easy to style. Smells gorgeous too!

Wonder balm – Β£18
http://www.percyandreed.com

Osis – Sparkler shine spray

image

This is my favourite ever hair product! I’ve been using this on and off for quite a few years now.
I spray around my hair (dry hair) to give my hair that ‘mock’ healthy shine πŸ˜‰
I have blonde hair but this would work especially well on dark hair.

Osis shine spray – Β£12.15

Sally’s beauty

Batiste dry shampoo ‘Oriental’

image

Who doesn’t love dry shampoo?! I spray this on my roots to refresh any oily roots as well as adding volume. Very easy to use and comes in lots of different scents and doesn’t give me that nasty ‘talc hair’ look either πŸ˜‰
I buy these from my local Asda supermarket when they are on offer, the ‘Oriental’ batiste is currently on offer for Β£1.50 πŸ™‚

Liz Earle Cosmetics

Hello my lovelies!

Liz Earle time again! I’m having a bit of a thing with LE make up at the moment…it’s just so good☺️

image

Heres the latest little lot. This is over two separate online orders I made. One for the Signature Foundation and Perfect Fix Concealer and the other was for the March Colour Collection, which is the one I’ll start with.

image image

March Colour Collection

Β£38.00 plus free delivery. Normal retail value Β£54.25 based on individual item prices. This collection is available until Wednesday 25th March 2015.

Every month there is a make up collection of three items, but you only pay for two. This month there is the Sheer Skin Tint and Healthy glow Cream Blush in Rose 04. The Light Reflecting Concealer is the free gift (worth Β£15.50)

image

The Sheer Skin Tint with SPF 15 is in Bare 01 (for fair skin tones) and has ingredients of Borage and Natural Vitamin E. This alone costs Β£22.25 for a 40ml tube.

This was just a touch too dark for me at the moment. I think everyone fair skinned will be at their palest right now coming out of our long, dreary winters, but no fear, summer is around the corner (well spring at least!) and this will bring a little splash of warmth and colour to my skin. I’ve come to this conclusion by wearing this for the past few days…I’m just too darn pale right now

image

The colour seems to have a yellowish tinge to it but once on it gives quite a sun kissed appearance. Not a problem but as I’ve said before, I like my face to match my neck and chest so this ones going to be put away until my holiday in June. Oh, it does give a dewy finish and I don’t feel as though it clogs pores.

image

The Light Reflecting Concealer is a little tube of wonder! 1.5ml at Β£15.50 it is Β£10.00 cheaper than the YSL one and works just as well, if not better! The Borage, Avocado oil and natural vitamin E inside this work amazing for the delicate eye area. Who wouldn’t want that kind of goodness going around your eyes?! It reflects, hydrates and illuminates. It finishes your look beautifully

image

Obviously more fluid than a foundation, that’s what we want don’t we for this kind of product? Well not to worry as this gives a wonderful airbrushed effect and is completely non drying. I love it!

Next is the Healthy Glow Cream Blush

image

Now I have fallen in love with these creamy beauties! This one is Rose 04 and bought on its own is Β£16.50 (2g) It’s slightly smaller in size than its powder blush sister but make no mistake, these are strongly pigmented and last a long time (I use mine on my lips too and take my word for it, they’re hydrating for the lips as well)

It contains Jojoba seed oil, Soyabean oil and Natural vitamin E. I use these cream blushers all the time because apart from the wonderful sheen of colour they give you, they never dry the skin on the cheeks, finish your make up to perfection and are so easy to apply. Did I say the colours to choose from are fantastic??!

image image

One swatch was taken outside in morning daylight, the other inside. This beautiful rose shade can give you a barely there, slightly pinched cheek look or for the more bold, a flushed glow. Wonderful either way.

image

The Signature Foundation is my favourite all time foundation! Β£21.00 for 25ml one pump is enough for the entire face. My shade is Porcelain 01

it contains that natural vitamin E and smells so natural. The first half of the day I get the odd smell of it and it brings me comfort because everyone who knows me know I’m a sucker for anything botanical and natural. At first sight you wouldn’t think it can bring the coverage it does, but it really covers the face lovely. Natural looking but will cover redness or spots and creates this gorgeous even canvas. It gives this finish that is natural, yet a full coverage and dewy yet non shiny. How have they done that I do not know but this foundation is never leaving my make up bag, believe me:)

image

The bottom of the picture is the Signature Foundation, the top is the Perfect Fix Concealer which I use with the foundation and is up next…

image

The Perfect Fix Concealer is Β£13.50 for 2g and my shade is Extra Fair 01

it says on the LE website that this is highly pigmented, lightweight and blends easily. I have to agree. I sometimes use this before my foundation straight from the stick if my skins not quite up to it, or over foundation when my skin is behaving itself just for quick touch ups. It just finishes your look great, and has never dried out my skin on the areas I’ve applied it to. As with all the LE cosmetics, it feels lovely on the skin and allows it to breathe…

I can really create a natural look for work using LE make up

image

I will always give a genuine and truthful review of any product but I rave so much about Liz Earle because for me, my skin is clear when using the skincare and since switching to the make up too, it’s amazed me how using products with ingredients such as vitamin E and Borage, helps keep the skin clear and even benefits it

i won’t put links to individual products, just the main site as it’s so easy to navigate anyway πŸ˜€
