Summer skin product favourites! (Oily skin)

Hey Guys!!!

Sorry we’ve been M.I.A for a little while…

Hope you are all good and enjoying the hot weather! šŸ™‚

Here is my recent summer favourites…..

NĀ°7 Shimmering lip/eye SPF stick

This NĀ°7 eye and lip shimmer stick is so creamy and long lasting! It also contains an SPF/UVB 30 (most  lightweight SPF lip products contain just a 15) and gives the lips and/or eyelids a flattering sweep of delicate shimmery bronze.

Ā£7.50 (3g)  – Boots

Clinique – Super city block (oil-free)

The Clinique city block is an excellent all rounder SPF40 face primer for full sun protection. It comes out like a beigy cream but when blended into the face/neck goes clear which then leaves your skin a none greasy summer glowy canvas šŸ™‚

Ā£18 (40ml)

Liz Earle skin repair moisturiser in ‘Light’

Like most Liz Earle products this moisturiser in ‘Light’ has been a god send for my oil to combination skin! As I am prone to spots I needed an everyday face moisturiser that was light enough to not disrupt my skin (Spots!) Yet rich enough to hydrate my skin with all the botanical and goodness that Liz Earle packs into it’s skin products such as Borage, Avacado and Echinacea . Leaves my skin velvety, matte and soft šŸ™‚

Ā£20.25 (50ml)

Liz Earle sheer tint primer

The Liz Earle sheer skin tint (I use shade ‘Bare 01’) is a wonderful tinted under makeup primer which gives a light-sheer coverage while controlling excess facial oil. The formula has a light protection of SPF 15, I often wear this alone or if you are conscious of looking greasy then wear a dusting of face powder on top for a more matte look..:)

Ā£22.25 (40ml)

Hope you all enjoyed reading this post šŸ™‚

My favourite blushers!

Hi Dolls!

Here’s a run down of my current favourite blushers….I’m really trying to experiment with colour as I tend to just stick with the same ol’ Laura Geller blush… So…..

Clinique cheek pop in ‘plum pop’

My sister gave me this and I admit I don’t normally suit full on pinks (they make me look like Santa!) But this shade has a lovely sheer tone to it, pink it is but ‘plum’ it is not. I apply a tiny amount on the higher apples of my cheeks, I then follow on top using a highlighter powder.

Clinique cheek pops – Ā£16.50

Laura Geller ‘Apple custard’

Having already reviewed this blusher and shown my love on my ‘February favourite’s’ post I don’t want to sound like a stuck record but I will say I absolutely adore this baked blusher, it really suits my fair skin tone and gives a soft pink/plum sheer glow to my face.

(The blusher came in a set… It isn’t sold on it’s own in the UK unless it is listed on EBay)

Bourjois peach shade ’32’

I think every woman at some point (in the UK) has owned a Bourjois blusher, they seem to be quite a staple product in everyone’s make-up bag šŸ™‚
I bought this blusher because I wanted a simple sheer ‘peachy’ shade that wasn’t too pigmented and could be buildable without being too difficult to apply, the only negative thing is it doesn’t last as long as the other blushers but its easy enough to swirl on so I’m not complaining šŸ™‚
Bourjois blusher – Ā£7.99

GOSH  ‘Juicy peach’

Woah, orange!!! šŸ˜‰ so I bought this blusher very randomly about 2 years ago and then forgot about it **Sigh** it was only when I was sorting through a cupboard in my flat that I found it (along with an unopened bottle of Christina Aguilera perfume….win!)…Anyway this matte warm orange/peachy blusher (obviously named ‘Juicy peach’) is becoming a favourite of mine although a word of warning, a little goes a VERY long way! if you apply too much you’ll look like a ragdoll!…unless you want to of course šŸ˜‰
Apply to the cheeks up to your temples for that ‘peaches & cream’ look šŸ™‚

Clinique Beyond Perfecting Foundation

Hey Girls

I had said I was going to review this last week, so better late than never!

Cliniques newest addition to its foundation family is the 2 in 1 foundation/concealer, Beyond Perfecting

The shade pictured is Cream Rose. I had tried Alabaster because that’s my shade in their Even Better foundation, I did find that a touch too dark for me. More about that in a sec….

So as you can see it has this nifty little wand like some concealers have, in fact think of an oversized concealer and that’s what you’ve got here! I like that the container is glass..Must be better that the product sits in glass rather than plastic???

Anyway, on to its performance! If you love full coverage without the feel of a weighty mask like cover on your face, go for this, or at least ask at the Clinique counter for a colour match, or dare I say a sample! (The girls at my local counters are brilliant though it has to be said)

A word of warning though, very little is needed for the full face and because of its 2 in 1 thicker consistency, it it always better to apply this directly after your morning cleanse and moisturise routine, you know when the skin is lovely and ‘damp’. It needs this to glide on and blend in well, otherwise if applied to dry skin, it could drag a bit and not give the flawless coverage it most definitely can produce.

I personally don’t apply this onto my skin direct from the wand tip. I dab some on the back of my hand(as I do with all foundation) and use my Clinique foundation brush to apply(picking up a tiny bit at a time and working outwards on my face) This makes me wonder if the wand is necessary but I believe it was put there for touch up usage, like you’d do with a concealer! 2 in 1 you see šŸ™‚

So here is my shade, Cream Rose. Cream Rose and Alabaster are their two lightest shades but I would say the CR is for the palest skins with pinky/red undertones and the Alabaster is for palest skins with more yellowy undertones

The bottom one is Alabaster, top of course is Cream Rose. So the difference isn’t major but on a pale skin like mine, it can look 5 shades too dark, and when you’re someone who likes to match their face to their neck, getting the right colour is important isn’t it?

I do love this new foundation though. I like a good coverage. I personally find this does as it promises and leaves you looking flawless. It doesn’t feel heavy on the skin and still lets your real skin breathe from underneath. I’ve worn this for long days at work and never need to touch up(in fact I don’t take it out with me when Ieave in a morning) but I will give my skin a quick dusting with loose powder halfway through the day. That’s down to my naturally greasy skin though not the product.

I will go as far as saying that if you get the right match for your skin, it can make you look amazing!

Ā£25.00 for 30ml (Will last ages though!)

Or just go to your local Clinique counter in Boots, Debenhams, House of Fraser etc

thank you for reading lovelies

My favourite perfumes – Review

Good Afternoon Dolls!

Decided to review/tell you  about my current favourite perfumes šŸ™‚

Britney spears ‘Curious’

I’ve been spraying this for the last 10 years (obviously not the same bottle šŸ˜‰ ) and out of all Britney’s perfumes this is hands down my favourite.

With notes of Vanilla, Pear, lotus and Magnolia, it’s a very feminine scent, for some reason it reminds me of Christmas because that’s when I always seem to get it šŸ™‚
I love the bottle as well šŸ™‚

Body shop – Moringa

You will adore this little perfume spray (only Ā£8.50!).
It’s light, fresh & crisp and really reminds me of a sunny, cloudless summers walk, lovely floral, clean fragrance.

Philosophy ‘Pure Grace’

A ‘soap & water’ scent, a very ‘Clean’ unisex scent, reminds me of a freshly bathed baby.
Philosophy  never has a description for their perfumes as they don’t want you to have a prejudged perception in mind.
If I had to think of another perfume which is a bit similar I would say ‘Glow by Jlo’.
I will say you will never be disappointed with a Philosophy perfume.

Clinique ‘Happy’

My favourite ever perfume is awarded to ‘Happy’ by Clinique šŸ™‚
My sister introduced me to it a few years ago and I’ve loved it ever since….It’s described as ‘A refreshing, flowery fragrance with notes of floral jasmine, lily of the valley and carnation’ but believe me it smells so much nicer than any description.
This set (which I got for Christmas) comes with travel sized variants of the original ‘Happy’ for example the ‘Happy – Flowers’ has abit more of a floral kick and the ‘Happy – Citrus’ has more of a citrusy kick, however they all smell pretty much the same as the regular ‘Happy’ which I love the most and get the most compliments šŸ™‚

Clinique ‘All about eyes’ review

Hi Doll’s

Skincare brand Clinique has many different eye creams but their ‘All about eyes’ range has two of my favourites….

‘All about eyes’ (original)

This light gel/serum formula eye cream claims to ‘Diminish the appearance of eye puffs, darkness & fine lines’ well having used this eye cream for the best part of 3 years I can certainly say it helps do just that, however, it isn’t a ‘Miracle cream’ so if you have dark circles don’t expect it to get rid of them in an instant, it does help to soften dark circles but use a good concealer for the rest! šŸ˜‰

To use I gently dab a small amount using my index finger around the eye area each morning, the cream sinks in within 5 minutes with no sticky residue.

At the grand old age of 28 I have no fine lines…….yet šŸ™‚

‘All about eyes’ 15ml-Ā£26

‘All about eyes’ Rich

This eye cream is similar to Cliniques regular ‘All about eyes’ only alot richer with a thick creamy formula.

This cream basically does the same as their regular eye cream only with a more intense hydration to the eye area.
This cream is especially good if, like me, you have a problematic under eye area (dry patches). This is also going to work well for a more mature skin.
I use this product at night due to it’s richness (used the same way as the previous cream)

What’s your favourite eye cream?
