Liz Earle – Nail polish review

Hi Dolls!

Today I bring you a review of Liz Earle’s nail polish in 02 ‘Quicksand’.

image

image

I bought this gorgeous shade of soft sand/beige back in February at their beautiful Leeds store.

As many of you know both myself and my sister Louise LOVE anything Liz Earle! I mainly love their Skincare products and my sister the cosmetics but we just love everything! 😀

A few years ago Liz Earle launched their cosmetic line and I didn’t try any of their nail polish at first but while in their store in February I couldn’t resist especially at all the rave reviews I read and the price, only £8.50 for a premium good quality nail polish 🙂

image

They have 12 gorgeous colours and I plan to get more during the summer but ‘Quicksand’ is such a lovely neutral shade that I wanted to try it first:)

The polish itself painted on beautifully with a nice, long brush and non-drip formula. To get the most out of the colour I used a topcoat (OPI). I had about 6 days wear before I noticed any chipping which I think is pretty good as I normally get around 2-3 days from my OPI or Barry M polishes so I was very impressed 🙂

Uspicy cosmetic brushes from Amazon (Sigma dupes!)

Hi Dolls!

I purchased some brushes from Amazon the other day and I’m so impressed that I wanted to tell you guys!

Their only £14.99 for 10 brushes and the quality and look is comparable to Sigma brushes! VERY well made, dense and no fall out..
They came in a cute box too 🙂

I’ll do a full review when I’ve used them for a while.

Clarins – Skincare review!

Hi Dolls!

How was your weekend? 🙂

Today I’m reviewing 2 product’s by Clarins.
image

I don’t really ever buy/use anything from Clarins however i received some at Christmas (which also came with the beauty flash balm primer which is reviewed on our blog) 🙂
First of all both of these products are 100ml sized (gift sized) and I’ve just checked the Clarins website & to buy individually they are 200ml sizes.

Moisture-Rich Body Lotion

image

image

I don’t know a great deal about Clarins as a brand (a few of my friends & family use it) BUT this is such a great body lotion! Infact probably one of the best I’ve used in a long time 😀

It soaks into the skin in seconds leaving a moisturising, non-sticky kind of matte sheen to the skin.
It has a kind of mild citrus/peachy scent which would make sense as it’s prime ingredients are Peach milk, Shea, Candlenut oil & Orange blossom.

Clarins describe this best as….’Visibly minimises the signs of aging caused by the sun, cold, heating and air conditioning’ so not matter what your age is we are all exposed to these elements 😉

This is definitely a ‘considered purchase’ so maybe ask at your nearest Clarins counter for a sample to try it for yourself 🙂

Exfoliating Body scrub

image

image

One thing I hate is exfoliators with big ole beads in them that feel like your skin is being sanded to the bone! Well, this is quite the opposite…. It comes out the tube as more like a paste (kind of looks like hair removal cream!) and after polishing my skin in the shower the dry skin on my upper arms & shoulder’s was removed and smoothed after a long winter of heating and jumpers. The skin was beautifully soft and ‘de-scaled’.

The exfoliator uses natural bamboo powders instead of beads which really gives your skin that ultra polished glow 🙂
The scent is very hard to describe, very neutral & clean I guess I would say…very summery 😉

The scrub also won Instyle magazine’s ‘Best body exfoliator’ in 2014 and I can really see why, I love it!

Do any of you guys use Clarins??

Too faced sweetheart blusher dupe!!!

Hi Dolls!

I recently found a fantastic dupe for the Toofaced sweetheart blusher in shade ‘Peach beach’ .

image

‘I heart makeup’ are a brand sold in the UK (Superdrug!) And as soon as I saw these cute little heart shaped boxes I knew they were Toofaced inspired dupes 🙂

image

image

image

image

I got the shade ‘Peachy pink kisses’ and loved it more or less straight away! I’ve only ever swatches the toofaced blusher in a department store but I can say the photos don’t do their similarities justice!

image

At almost £20 difference in price I also bought a few more in different colours for beauty swaps…I couldn’t resist! 😉 Apparently they had just been restocked when I bought them as they are always sold out….lucky me! 🙂

What do you guys think?

Mac Patisserie and Dervish

Hey Guys

I’m going to do a quick review of my two favourite Mac products for everyday use. The gorgeous lipstick in Patisserie and the lip liner Dervish

image image

The last time I visited the Mac counter I asked one of the make up artists to match me up with an amazing everyday lipstick that suited me completely, looked fantastic and went with everything(I don’t ask for much!) Anyway she did do, I didn’t even look at the lipstick name and bought it. When I got outside I realised it was the shade Patisserie that I’d had before. I’d already matched myself up with my perfect shade, but at least the lady in there had done what I asked😊

image

I just love this neutral shade. I wouldn’t really call it a brown, it’s more like a pale pink but with the depth of a rosy colour and just a hint of brown, or maybe caramel. It’s just very flattering on my pale skin tone.

It’s £15.50 for 3g and this shade is a lustre. I do love my Mac lipsticks in a lustre 💋

I usually use the lip liner Boldly Bare by Mac, but on the same visit, I was recommended the lip liner Dervish to use with Patisserie. Which I then had my heart set on and wanted it only to be told it wasn’t in stock! Don’t you hate it when that happens??? I left disappointed thinking that my new amazing lip look was incomplete. I tried to order the elusive Dervish from http://www.maccosmetics.co.uk Out of stock. Tried to order from http://www.debenhams.com Out of stock and House of Fraser don’t carry that shade.

image image

Obviously I got my Dervish in the end. Look at what a great match they are together!? £12.50 for 1.45g, I think Macs standard lip liners are excellent value for money…they just seem to last forever and when you find a shade like Dervish, it’s so versatile you can use it with many different shades of lipstick.

I do love a great lipstick and liner so just wanted to share one of my favourites with you guys 😊

Thanks for reading

Too Faced Mini Haul

image

Hey guys, we’ve got this cute little collection of Too Faced cosmetics here so I better get on with it! 😊

I’ll start with the primer, as you do. This is called Primed & Poreless Primer  and sells for £22.00. It’s 28g (around 40ml worth)

image image

Its a gorgeously creamy caramel coloured primer (bit of a mouthful there!) that goes on smooth and even. It’s extremely hydrating from first application and doesn’t ball up at all. The only thing being a problem for me is I’ve got greasy skin. Too matt I break out, too hydrating I look even more shiny. I really can’t win with primers so this one has gone to my sister. I haven’t used it long enough to say how it performs throughout a day but I will say this, it makes a great even base. Nina will review this herself in the coming weeks. It’s only fair it gets the two reviews😊

Ingredients include vitamins A&C, Mulberry extract and Retinol, so some serious stuff added. The Too Faced site says ‘scientifically formulated to wear under bronzers, foundation powders or alone to achieve flawless skin without using make up’

No parabens and Vegan Friendly

image image image

Next up is the HUGE Size Queen Mascara for  £15.00

If you love a big lash look I’d highly recommend this! It’s actually quite surprising just how massive the wand bristles really are

image image

It has volumising conditioning fibres and really long bristles that stretch and lengthen your lashes to gigantic proportions! A ‘dual helix brush and curl setting formula’ and quite simply, the more coats applied, the bigger the lashes. It does contain parabens and several different waxes but it’s just down to personal preference really. Some people don’t mind a mascara that contains parabens if it can give these massive results!

image image

The Absolutely Flawless Concealer is £15.00 for 8ml and this shade is Vanillia.

This is an extremely full coverage concealer where only the tiniest amount is needed. Even if you were to conceal your full face, an amount the size of a grain of rice would do it, especially using a buffing brush.

image

Slightly too yellow toned for my skin tone, I was impressed by the coverage and staying power of this. Website says ‘hides imperfections, masks redness and hyper pigmentation while promoting healthy skin’ and I can confirm that it certainly does that.

No parabens and vegan friendly

The last product is their eye shadow primer, Shadow Insurance Primer

image image image

This £15.00 tube really works wonders! A featherweight consistency that creates a perfect canvas for powder and cream eye shadows….they just stay put all day! It’s crease proof too but I only think an eyeshadow primer is crease proof if you don’t apply too much to start with. Highly recommended for the avid shadow wearers ☺️ Contains no parabens. It doesn’t say vegan friendly like the others so if you’re worried just check out the site for all ingredients.

http://www.toofaced.com now ship to the UK. All prices in pounds sterling with low international shipping rates. Other places that sell Too Faced are

http://www.debenhams.com  boots.com  beautybay.com  lookfantastic.com

We just love the pretty pink, vintage style packaging and generous amount of product you get in each item!

Thanks for reading guys
